You are already taking a huge step in the right direction by planning early. You are getting valuable time to plan it in as much detail or in as little detail as you want. Instead of spending every waking minute with a spreadsheet open, panic creating an Amazon cart for your outfit needs, and frantically googling "how to use Lightning Lanes," you are giving yourself months to sort out what you actually need to know and what actually needs to be coordinated. And spoiler alert: you don't need to have all of this planned asap. The goal of starting this early is simply giving yourself options and time.

If Disney World 2027 is seriously on your radar, I'd start thinking about it now. This stage of planning can be as simple as deciding roughly when you want to travel, what kind of trip you want to take, and what you're comfortable spending.

If you know that a Disney vacation is on your radar, but you also know that you need to budget monthly, then a $200 deposit is the way to go. You have until 30 days before arrival to pay the remaining balance off, which can give you a meaningful amount of time to make payments.

Starting earlier gives you the opportunity to compare what you actually want and what works for you and your family instead of choosing from whatever happens to be available later.
Pro Tip: Don't choose a resort based on the room alone, off property or on property. Especially, on property, you want to take into consideration, dining, transportation, and location. These things can be huge game changers once you are actually on vacation.
Well, how do I plan my budget if I am starting so early? What if things change?
Disney is expensive, but that isn't something you didn't know. Planning earlier gives you the flexibility to take the budget you realistically want to spend and tailor your experience to that instead of the other way around. Starting early also gives you the luxury of payment plans and saving in advance that last minute travel just won't give you. And planning this early can help you sort out what splurges you think are worth it versus what aren't. The more expensive option isn't always best and planning in advance gives you the time to sort through that without added stress.

Planning this early gives you a lot longer to enjoy the luxury of picking out outfits, sorting through meals and dining options, and creating itineraries, if that's your thing.
